Daniel Maldini admitted mixed emotions after scoring in Monza's defeat to Atalanta.

Maldini struck late to set up a grandstand finish, but La Dea eventually ran out 2-1 winners on Sunday.

The former AC Milan striker told DAZN afterwards: "A bit of bad luck, a bit of regret but I'm happy, the whole team gave a great performance. Too bad, too bad how it ended.

When I have confidence everything is easier. Even if I haven't played from the start I'm calm because I feel the trust of the group, this makes me feel good.

"The most important thing for a player is to have confidence, to have continuity. This is fundamental for me."
