Lazio have agreed to send Luis Maximiano to Almeria and the goalkeeper is expected to complete the move soon.

The 24-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper did not have a positive debut season in the Italian capital following his €10 million move from Granada. He was shown a red card just six minutes into his debut for handling the ball outside the penalty area, and he never recovered his starting place.

After it became clear that Ivan Provedel would become the new number one in Rome, Luis Maximiano started to drift to the fringes of Maurizio Sarri’s project, making it obvious that his days were numbered.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Luis Maximiano is now only a step away from completing a move to Almeria following an agreement with Lazio. The only thing missing now is the final green light from president Claudio Lotito.

The 24-year-old has already said goodbye to the squad and expects to complete his transfer in the coming days. The figures or formula of the deal are not yet clear, but some reports suggest a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause, set at around €9 million.
