The Yardbarker Headcam...

So far we've had great training conditions here in Colorado. There's not a ton of snow but there's enough for us to train. Today we had an early morning session from 7 to 9 and another from 10:30 to 1:30 so it was a long day on the hill, especially at 11,000 feet. At the end of our second session a lot of the guys were fatigued from the lack of oxygen, which made for some good crashes. I promise to post them as soon as I download the video from our coaches. One of the young guys on the team, Chris Beckman, crashed pretty hard and carwheeled off course, over the safety netting, and into the rocks. Fortunately he was ok but ripped through his suit and shirt and has a nice cut on his back to show for it. Check it out! As far as some ski vid here's a glimpse of one of my warm-up runs before our training session. I fastened the camera to my helmet so it's a little shaky but a cool perspective!

  We were training G.S., which is a slower/technical event, so probably about 40 to 45 mph.

    My first race will be a World Cup Downhill in Lake Louise, Canada over Thanksgiving weekend.

  Chris is known to take big crash every now and then. He's one of the biggest guys on the team at 230 lbs., and is lucky he didn't sustain any serious injuries.
